September in Australia is a big month for sports fans.
We have the usual AFL & NRL Finals Series, the Rugby Championship, the start of the Spring Racing carnival and the start of the NFL season in the US. Add those to other events in the sporting calendar, and you have a jam packed month of sport.
With all these big events coinciding with the start of spring, it brings with it a perfect excuse for many social occasions, a chance to get outdoors and enjoy the sunshine after 3 months spent rugged up during winter (unless you’re up north, and then it’s just another typical weekend of beautiful sunshine)
A chance to eat, drink and be merry. Or, if you are like a lot of people, a chance to eat carbs, drink carbs, and be merry.
Here at our house, we are hoping to get through the September sports month by staying keto. To help with our new meal planning regime, we’ve put together a few lists of great recipes to make and we’ll be sharing them with you over the coming weeks.
First up is the essential finger food for any event, Chicken Wings. Those delicious little parcels of breaded or sauced chickenwings that make your hands messy and leave you wanting more. Chicken Wings are perfect while following a keto lifestyle, 100g of raw Chicken Wings contains 17.4g of Fat, and 16.1g of Protein and 0.0g of Carbohydrate (source: CalorieKing Australia)
But who wants them plain? The usual breaded & sweetened store bought sauces are not great, and I’m no good at coming up with different ideas other than buffalo, so I needed help.
10 great Chicken Wings recipes that are low carb & perfect for maintaining a keto lifestyle
And finally, a great Chicken Wing list without Buffalo Wings is no list at all.
